This place checks all the boxes for an authentic, family run, home-cooked experience. The menu is a mishmash of printed page and handwriting, the staff and clientele are nearly all Spanish speaking, it is spotless for dirt and there is Mexican football on the telly. The food is good. It's not fancy, and that should keep the snobs away, but it has the essential combination of scent, visuals, taste and the inner warmth a cook who loves a dish can make. You can do the El Typico half chicken, tacos which my sons say are rocking, steak platters in all their various combinations, and these wee Jammie cake style pupusa things. A novelty for me, very popular in Latin America apparently, they are enclosed buckwheat pancakes with a choice of fillings. Some of which you've never heard of, so try them. This is grass roots cooking, and I am a fan. In a low sodium World, the tropical propensity for salt is punkette, the spice combinations are unfamiliar but pleasing. Part of the meal I ate was a little dry, but that's what the excellent salsa is for, and everyone at the table is coming back. There is no booze, which is a good thing in working mens establishments playing football, and the while the drinks selection is authentic it is limited. Expect to pay fifteen bucks a head per adult, leaving plenty of opportunity for a jumbo tip. Don't go if you are stuck up.

I don't know anything about Salvadoran food, but I do know this place is absolutely delicious. Had a party and on short notice they agreed to make a bunch of food for us. We had their chicken and pupusas and plantanos and beans and holy it was good. I am going back.
Hey this spot not huge on decor but BIG on flavor. This is my family go to spot when in a fix. This is authentic Latin food. The charcoal grilled chicken is seasoned to perfection and always tender and in point. Usually order whole chicken which they chop up and I get with rice and salad or black beans. It comes in a half tray and is enough to feed 3-4 people. The black beans are special. They are creamy and delicious. The other standouts on a cold day are there soups which are a meal and the Pupusas which are also authentic. I highly recommend this spot to go into your regular rotation. You can feed your family of four home cooked style food for $30. I bring this home 2-3 per month and slide through for lunch when I am in Nyack.
Cash only spot. I got food to go. I got the ribs with fries and rice. You cannot beat the price of $8 for this item. The food comes out within 5 minutes. The service is prompt and great. A hidden gem. The menu prices on here are not reliable. When you walk in, they have menus sitting around. Grab one, look through a order.
Great chicken special with rice and fries. Perfect lunch/dinner meal for the family. Staff is really nice. Parking can be a bit complicated but you can find a spot around the block.
The chicken gets five stars. Amazing. The place itself is a bit of a mess , and they take nothing but cash -so my feeling was like what's up with that? Did not stop me from coming back for more of that chicken.
Going here is an adventure. It is a dive but I love the food and ambience. If you don't mind being the only gringo in the joint, this place is for you. Good hearty El Salvadorian cuisine and the best grilled chicken in Rockland County. I have no idea what spices they use but the chicken has a nice kick to it but not overly hot. One thing to mention is they serve with their main dish, like just about every Latin restaurant I know of, two carbs like rice and french fires, yucca or plantain. I make sure I always substitute one of the carbs for a salad. Try a variety of papusa's while you are at it.
